Project Process
Don’t have the resources to run your own development project?
Godfrey Systems can provide project management services to help upgrade your digital presence. Our web development and design project process is a proven method. This process is a series of steps that build upon one another, reducing risk and arriving at a final website through a structured approach.
Most projects take 4 to 6 weeks to complete. Typical project types include: web marketing websites, e-commerce web projects, and custom web solutions (ie. integration/application design).
Typical 8-Step Project
Process
Requirements gathering
Based on conversations with you, the client, we learn about your website goals and create a proposal to align expectations, educate each other, define features and scope, and outline cost and duration.
Kick-off
A project extranet is established for team communication. We ask you to answer questions that turn into an agenda for an informative kick-off meeting. Then, we discuss project details including design preferences, deliverables, and a timeline.
Discover
During the Discover phase, we focus on on-page SEO recommendations and a hierarchical sitemap, and we create wireframes that portray page layouts.
Design
We explore brand, fonts, colors, and usability. To establish creative direction, several moodboards are presented. Once a direction is approved, we design all the website’s page templates.
Development
We program the website by converting designs into HTML and CSS, which we connect to the content management system (CMS). We enter your content and perform functionality and browser testing.
Deploy
You are trained on how to use the CMS, and you provide feedback on the website. Once we have your approval, the website launches.
Support & Hosting
After the website is live, we maintain a partnership with you by providing support assistance and ongoing maintenance to the hosted environment, the website, and the CMS.
Website Updates
Whether you are interested in small changes, Google Analytics help, or major enhancements, our Web Strategists and Support Team are ready to discuss the next steps to your website.
